Our meetings...
On our first meeting we sat together and met our team. We mostly knew one another but from now on we should all work as a team. Our team was formed by four members (Mary, Marili, Aggelos and Manolis) and one teacher (Mrs Effi). The first thing we did is to understand what this competition was about. We visited the site of ThinkQuest and we started watching the tutorial. Through the tutorial we saw older teams, how they worked, how they where organized, we were informed about what was important to win and took a quiz about it. We searched the internet, among them there was a list of sites that our teacher had given us so that we would see what other schools were doing on this subject. How to turn your school green? From our research we saw that many things were happing abroad but nothing was happening in our country. At least nothing that involved many people. The first and most exiting task we were given was to name our team. It had to be something easy, small, smart and related to our topic. Manolis came up with the idea of “Green Team”. Then we decided to use a different font capital and small to make it different. So we ended up to GrEeN TeAm.
On our second meeting we had to divide our tasks. Ms Effie gave as the new tools we should learn and started to discuss the subject. We decided that we would all learn the tools because they were fun, easy and after all this was the goal of our enrollment. To learn, enjoy and be productive with a subject that we all liked, computers and nature.
The list of the task was going longer and longer. We all suggested ideas but we didn’t have time to complete them all. So we had to be specific to what we wanted to achieve. There was the case study, the research, the solution and the motivation to follow the solution. As we all worked as a team fist of all we had to make questionnaires. But for who? We all agreed that we had to involve the whole school, from the smallest student to the owner of the school. So we divided them to categories such as students, teacher, kitchen, canteen, secretaries e.t.c. Every one took some categories and had to make the questionnaire that was suited for that category.
